Our Programs

We deliver the MHFA England First Aider course. Learning takes place through four live training sessions on Zoom, spread across four weeks, with online self-learning activities in between available on the learning hub.

The course will teach you how to identify, understand and help someone who may be experiencing a mental health challenge. MHFA is not about trying to fix someone's issue's, it will show you how to listen non judgmentally, reassure, respond and guide the person to professional help. Helping the person to access the support they might need for recovery or successful management of symptoms.

You’ll also learn to recognise warning signs of mental ill health, and develop the skills and confidence to approach and support someone while keeping yourself safe. What’s more, you’ll gain an understanding of how to support positive wellbeing and tackle stigma in the world around you. This course is also a great opportunity to look within yourself and check that you are ok, and gain skills to look after your own wellbeing.

MH Awareness
Learn the causes and spot the signs of poor mental health.

Facilitated hours: 2 hours 1 session

MH Awareness Level 1
This awareness qualification is suitable for everyone as it provides learners with the knowledge to recognise a suspected mental health condition and the skills to start a conversation and be able to signpost a person towards professional help.
All members of the public can benefit from this course and it is a great stepping stone into First Aid for Mental Health.

MH for Managers
We will explore how challenges are best-addressed in a management context, giving line managers the confidence and skills to support mental health needs.
·Identify common mental health difficulties, including causes and risk factors, signs and symptoms and how these manifest in the workplace
·How to support your team and signpost people to help when necessary
·Explore tools to help managers and colleagues have helpful conversations about mental health and wellbeing

Facilitated hours: 3 hours 1 session

First Aid for MH Level 2
This qualification covers:
1.What mental health is, why people develop mental health conditions and the role of a First Aider for mental health
2.How to provide practical support for a person presenting a mental health condition
3.How to recognise and manage stress
4.A range of mental health conditions
5.The impact of substance abuse on mental health
6.The first aid action plan for mental health and how to implement it
7.How to create a positive mental health culture in the workplace
Each learner will receive a 96 page Electronic Manual containing comprehensive guidance on First Aid for Mental Health training and a E-certificate will be provided on passing this qualification

This popular course is certified by Mental Health First Aid England. The course will teach participants how to identify and help someone who may be experiencing a mental health issue. Learn how to listen without judgement and respond and guide the person to professional help.
